Uploading a new or a replacement database file
This is a MUST READ guide
Describes the procedure for having FMP files hosted by Access Net on one of our dedicated FileMaker Hosting Servers. This procedure is followed for uploading a new or a replacement database file.
Database Submission
After checking our FileMaker Hosting prices and advising your requirement by sending an email to our WebMaster you can submit your databases for review. Databases should be sent via email as compressed attachments in the exact configuration you want them mounted. This includes all scripts, fields, passwords and data you intend to start with.

Database Review
After receiving your database via email the Access Net WebMaster will review your databases for operational integrity. As a shared service, no single database may adversely affect the operation of other clients' hosted databases. If your databases must run numerous lengthy scripts then you may wish to check our co-hosting option and have your own FileMaker Hosting Server housed within the Access Net computer centre. The WebMaster review process costs $71.50 for 15 mins, $33/15 mins thereafter.

Database Acceptance
Once your databases have been approved, you will be advised via email. Where problems exist with your submitted databases an email is sent providing clear descriptions as to why your files cannot be hosted in their current state.

Database Mounting
Databases reviewed and approved for mounting are moved to our FileMaker Pro Hosting Servers and 'web enabled', allowing outside access to your database content. Depending on your security set-up, visitors may be required to enter a password. You will be advised a url by email for access to your databases, passwords (if necessary) and any other information relevant to your hosted files. To ensure files retain operational integrity, existing access privileges are modified so that scripts cannot be edited when files are opened via TCP/IP.

Database Update
If you need to provide a new copy of a database, you'll need to re-submit it for review prior to mounting.

Database Format Files
Some web/database operations rely upon html files containing specific tags. These tags provide instructions to the FileMaker Hosting Server so data can be accessed (search, add, update, delete). Where format files are required (you're not using the instant web publishing capability of FileMaker) you'll need an additional Flash Page Service. This provides web hosted space for storage of format files, images and other files to enhance presentation of database content.

The files which provide this interaction are stored in a different folder to your databases and may be updated via FTP (without Access Net involvement).
